Family law

When a marriage, a separation, or the custody of a child involves two countries, the early choices count. We advise individuals, families, and international couples on family law between Italy and Spain: we decide with you where to start the proceedings, which law applies, and where the judgment can be enforced.

One specialism, two legal systems

When a marriage or a separation involves Italy and Spain, two systems come into play at once. The competent courts change, so does the applicable law and the way a judgment is recognised and enforced abroad.

Riondato & Partners advises individuals, families, and international couples from Padua, Alicante, and Elche, in English, Spanish, and Italian. When needed, we coordinate notaries and partner lawyers in the other countries, so the matter moves forward in both jurisdictions at once.

How we work

For most international matters the first decision is strategic: the competent court. What you decide in the first weeks shapes the applicable law, the tax exposure, and the enforceability of the judgment for years. We take it on at once, with you.

From there we build the strategy case by case and keep the client informed in a language they understand. A family matter is also a personal one: we treat it with the discretion and care it deserves.
